Symptoms of Asthma

When can an asthma attack happen?

There are many ways to help prevent asthma attacks or navigate your asthma. One of the most important steps is learning what triggers your asthma and avoiding those things when you can. Always keep your inhaler with you, just in case you need it.

Common signs and symptoms include trouble breathing, wheezing, chest discomfort, and worsening symptoms (like coughing or wheezing) during a cold or respiratory illness.

How to Prevent an Asthma Attack:

Be mindful of your surroundings—weather, allergens, or even strong smells can sometimes cause asthma. Make sure to take your medication as prescribed and check in with your doctor regularly. If you have exercise-induced asthma, take extra care when being active. See a doctor if your symptoms get worse, such as more frequent shortness of breath, wheezing, or if there is no improvement after using an inhaler.
